Environmental Management at STW
The environmental compatibility of our production process and our products was and is an important aspect of our work at STW.
We are receiving more and more inquiries about whether we have a formal environmental management system in place. As we do not have a formal system, we would like to make the following statement in order to avoid misunderstandings.
Since STW was founded, high quality fibre fillers have been produced to a large extent from recycled textile material. Recycling and the protection of natural resources and the avoidance of rubbish dumps is no gimmick at STW, but company policy.
The production technologies applied do not lead to water or air pollution. The larger part of the energy we use comes from our own hydro-electric plant. Our products are not hazardous to the environment. On the contrary, by using our products, hazardous materials such as asbestos can be replaced.
The objective of STW´s development is, amongst other things, to manufacture high quality products in an environmentally friendly way by the sensible use of recycled materials. Our wide range of fibres enables us to replace hazardous substances in many fields. Because of their high quality, STW products are often used for the development of new, ecologically harmless products.
Because of the existing environmental compatibility of our operation, the absence of any enviromental conflicts and the size of our company, the creation of a formal environmental management system is not one of our major aims in the near future.
